Maybe not totally Sun related but my understanding is that there were
versions of Kai's Power Tools that worked with the UNIX versions of
Photoshop.B Has anyone seen these or know where to find them?

In a similar vein, I have seen Photoshop for SGI/IRIX floating around
but I understand that this did also get released for Solaris. Is this
lost to time?

Back in the mid-'90's I used Photoshop on a Sparc 20, it was SO fast
compared to the Mac and PC version I had at the time.

Well that is until I got to run it on an Indigo 2 ( I wanna say it was
an R4400, forget the Mhz ).B And that was SO fast until I got to use it
on a PPC604 Powermac ....

Well, you see where it's going. But I don't really miss Photoshop. I'm
not an artist, and it was always a PIA.B Now I use Image Magic for 99%
of the stuff I used to do in Photoshop, and it's pretty damn fast on my
Ryzen based Linux system, at least for now ...

Agreed! This is really just for historical interest purposes. I have
Photoshop installed on a couple of my SGI machines and it works pretty
well - it definitely does more than I will ever be artistically able to
exploit. Later versions of IRIX even came with a special "accelerator"
plugin to make Photoshop run faster.

I just remember it being fun to play with the KPT plugins on the old Mac
versions of Photoshop back in the early 90s and I heard they also
released it for UNIX, which of course makes me even more interested to
find it...

Just want to make sure I understand your comment. When you comment

"Now I use Image Magic for 99% of the stuff I used to do in Photoshop"

Do you mean this :::

<http://imagemagick.org/script/index.php>

Or something else?

Thanks,

Jerry
