[rescue] Sun Netra 240 Power Requirements 48V

I nabbed a couple Netra 240s at surplus for 5 bucks each. However they
require 48v. Just trying to figure out what amperage I need to power them
on.

There is usuallly a label on the underside that tells you voltage and amps. If not, check whatever online specs you can find. A quick google seems to indicate maximum of 15A at 40V (but that is maximum; my guess is that 8A at 48V will work unless you have maxed out disk and RAM.

Telco DC rectifiers used to be pretty readily available on ebay, but
the market has dried up AFAIK.

As you'll find the reason the DC powered systems are so cheap is that it
is hard to find rectifiers that can handle what you need cheaply. :-(

Rich Kulawiec recently sent me a couple 'believed good' V240 AC power
supplies, could they be exchanged for the 48 volt PS? (I suspect they could)
If so, and you are interested, drop me a line off list. I owe Rich about $20
for shipping to me, if you send him the $20 I owe him I can send them to you
for testing.
